> Method of construction: (Funnel / cap)
The funnel needs to sit neatly in a hole formed by removing a circular
section of the upside-down washing-up bowl (see "F" in photograph
below).
Some latitude can be employed here - the hole smaller or larger to either raise
or lower the top of the funnel into the bowl.
There is often a slight rim on the underside of such bowls, which can be
used as a marker, otherwise a circle of suitable dimensions will have to be
marked. Cut out the hole using a sharp knife (care needed - suggest wearing
heavy duty gloves). Retain the circular piece so cut out: it can be used as the
steadying base for the measuring vessel - see later.
The funnel is glued (initially) into the hole, making sure that the
spout (" F' " in photograph above) drops vertically when the bowl is
placed on top of the main bucket. Once set, reinforce & waterproof the join
with a fibre-glass skin on the underneath side of the bowl (where it won't be
seen in normal use).
Tidy up any jagged edges that might have been generated, and if
required, paint the construction. My funnel was a dirty white, so I painted it
black, which made a nice presentation against the dark green of the bowl &
the black of the bucket.
