One of the four or five wettest Junes (by EWR) of the century. Many high-profile sporting fixtures affected. Drier in north and west UK. Notably sunless (after good start) - some areas just over 50%.

Mild/stormy first two-thirds then drier/colder. Severe gales/storms early in month. Overall mild, and exceptionally mild first half of month with several day max/night min records broken.
